I remember during my junior year of high school I was walking through the hall on my way to basketball practice holding my girlfriends hand, when all of the sudden I heard a teacher say, ‘No P.D.A.’ Meaning no public display of affection.
It shocked me at first because I never imagined holding hands to be an offensive public display of affection. No one has ever told me ‘No P.D.A.’ Well, think it not strange but from that moment on I never felt comfortable showing my affection in a public place. It was if I could see that same person watching me wherever I went.
As you ponder this example, have you gotten to the place in your life or marriage where you do not feel comfortable displaying your affection for your loved one? What took place in life that caused you to unclasp your hands or keep you from showing how much you care? It is not God’s will for his children to move to the place of ‘No P.D.A.’
People need to know that they are loved and that God is Love. You have the right to show people that their hands are worth holding, they are worth being hugged and they are worth being told ‘I love you’. God demonstrated His love for us by sending His Son to die for us. I believe all of us have something we can sacrifice in our lives in order to show the people of this world some public affection.
Today I challenge you to display as much Godly P.A. as it takes to let your loved ones know how much you care. Go for it!!!!!!
You Can Do It!
